The 2025 Charity Hockey Showdown & Social was an incredible day of community, connection, and giving back, held at the Tribute Communities Centre in support of the SickKids Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, participants, and attendees, we are proud to share that $19,450 was raised for this important cause.
Event Highlights
A Day to Remember
From the moment the puck dropped, the energy in the arena was electric. Families, friends, and community members came together not just for some great games of hockey, but to support the life-changing work being done at SickKids.
We were honoured to hear from two inspiring speakers:
- Dr. Devin Singh, an ER doctor at SickKids, who shared powerful insight into the impact of donations on patient care
- Owen Rose, a patient advocate, who spoke from the heart about his personal experience and the importance of continued support
Their words were a meaningful reminder of why events like this truly matter.
Special Guests & Family Fun
The event was made even more memorable with a special guest appearance by Jamie Lee Rattray, who took time to meet attendees and support the cause.
The kids were thrilled to meet Deke, the Oshawa Generals mascot, and take part in a full lineup of family-friendly activities, including:
- A family skate on the big ice
- Face painting and kids activities in the restaurant
- A delicious lunch buffet for everyone to enjoy
Raffles, Prizes & Champions
There was no shortage of excitement throughout the day, especially during the raffle draws, where many fantastic prizes were won thanks to generous local donors.
On the ice, Team Melynchuk took home the championship title, capping off a competitive and fun-filled tournament.
